Renting for Royal College of Art: campus and area guide
RCA has sites in Kensington, Battersea and White City. Your programme and studio location determine which housing search makes sense.
Campus and area comparison
| Teaching location | Areas to compare | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Kensington | South Kensington and wider west London | Confirm the actual studio entrance. |
| Battersea | Battersea and connected areas | Check river crossings and the final walk. |
| White City | White City · Shepherds Bush | Compare the route to the specific RCA building. |
Choosing a home for your routine
Discuss how you will store and transport materials, especially if you expect to travel between sites. Check lift dimensions, stairs, work surfaces and any tenancy restrictions on equipment or noisy activity. A large-looking living room in photographs does not establish a usable studio space.
Rent and move-in costs
The homes on this site are whole-home private rentals, with bills excluded. Compare monthly rent, the tenancy deposit, utilities, broadband, travel and Council Tax where applicable. Any separately chosen guarantor service has its own fee. Chase Evans confirms current availability, costs and application requirements.

Ask for a useful shortlist
Send your actual teaching building, maximum monthly rent for the whole home, move-in date, bedrooms and number of occupants. Ask about a remote video viewing if you are overseas. Keep passports and bank documents out of the initial enquiry.
