Your information, explained
Privacy & cookies
Updated 9 October 2026. This notice covers enquiries and tools on Valerio London Homes. It does not replace the separate notices supplied when you apply for or enter a tenancy.
Who handles your information
Valerio Berdondini operates this personal website and is responsible for the initial website enquiry records. This is not an official Chase Evans website. Contact Valerio at the email or phone below for privacy questions, requests or complaints. When your enquiry progresses through Chase Evans, the agency is responsible for its own processing as described in its privacy notice.
What we collect
We collect the name and contact details you provide, your preferred contact method, budget, areas, bedrooms, occupants, move-in date, university or workplace, property references and message. We also hold relevant correspondence. The hosting service may process IP addresses and technical security logs. Please do not send passports, bank statements, health information or other sensitive documents through an initial enquiry. Application documents should only be supplied through the verified secure process explained by the agency.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your request, identify relevant homes, arrange viewings and pass relevant requirements to Chase Evans where needed to progress your search. Our lawful basis for initial enquiry handling is legitimate interests in responding to requests and operating a secure property introduction service. Steps at your request towards a tenancy may rely on pre-contractual necessity where applicable; statutory checks rely on the relevant legal obligations. Optional analytics and embedded maps rely on your consent. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to general marketing. We do not sell enquiry details or use automated decision-making to decide your housing eligibility.
Who receives information
Valerio and relevant Chase Evans staff use enquiry details to help with your request. As an application progresses, necessary information may be supplied to the prospective landlord, referencing provider, tenancy administration platform, chosen guarantor provider and inventory company, according to their roles and the agency process. Hosting, email, security and maintenance providers process data needed to operate the website and deliver messages. Google receives technical information if you enable Analytics or Maps. If you choose WhatsApp, WeChat or another external service, that provider processes your communication under its own terms and privacy notice. We share only what is needed for the relevant purpose, or where the law requires.
International services
Some technical and communication providers operate internationally, so processing may take place outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, the responsible organisation must use an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. Contact Valerio for information about the safeguards relevant to your website enquiry. Chase Evans and external services explain their own arrangements in their notices.
How long information is kept
We review enquiries when a search ends or stops progressing. Our retention policy is to delete the website enquiry and related working email/message copies within 30 days of the last meaningful contact where no tenancy or continuing request results. This requires a regular review of the inbox and correspondence, rather than simply archiving them. Records needed for a tenancy, complaint or legal obligation are handled separately under the applicable retention policy. Restricted backups may retain copies until overwritten under the hosting backup cycle; they are not used for routine contact.
Flatmate profiles and saved tools
Flatmate profiles are reviewed before publication. Approved profiles show only the selected display name, requirements and edited introduction; contact details remain private. Public profiles stop appearing after 45 days. Contact details are shared for an introduction only after both people agree. You may request earlier removal. Shortlists and rental checklists are stored in your own browser for the tool you request; they are not sent to Valerio unless you choose to share them.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw optional technology consent through Cookie settings at any time; this does not affect earlier lawful processing. We normally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions, and may need to verify your identity securely. Contact Valerio first with any privacy concern. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. Information required to answer your enquiry is marked in the form; without it we may not be able to respond.
